Mighty Networks
Community platform that bundles courses, live events and a branded member directory, with a transaction fee on every plan.
Who it's for
Creators who want one platform for a paid community, courses and live events, and who are willing to give up a slice of every sale to get it.
Standout details
- Unlimited members on every plan, including Launch at $79/mo
- All three public tiers include iOS and Android apps under Mighty Networks' own branding, with fully custom-branded apps reserved for Mighty Pro
- A member directory with matchmaking, closer to a social network than a course dashboard
- Live streaming is built in on every plan, scaling from 20 streaming hours and 100 viewers on Launch to 50 hours and 3,000 viewers on Growth
- The transaction fee drops as you upgrade (2% to 1% to 0.5%) but never reaches zero on any public plan
What it is
Mighty Networks is a community platform built around a members directory and feed, with courses, live and in-person events, and paid memberships layered on top. Hosts (its word for creators) run the whole thing, from free discussion to gated paid tiers, inside one product rather than stitching a forum, a course host and an events tool together.
The company’s own figures (member-created content, aggregate host earnings) are marketing claims, not independently audited numbers, so treat anything beyond pricing and plan limits as the vendor’s framing rather than fact.
Who should use it
Coaches, cohort-based course creators and niche community builders who want members meeting each other, not just consuming content. The matchmaking-style directory is the clearest differentiator from a plain course platform, and it only pays off if your members actually want to be introduced to each other.
It is a worse fit for someone selling a single static course with no community angle. That person is paying for features, like live streaming and events, they may never open.
What stands out
The pricing ladder is transaction-fee-first: Launch at $79/mo takes 2% of sales, Scale at $179/mo takes 1%, and Growth at $354/mo takes 0.5%. Every public tier also carries unlimited members, so the upgrade path is about the fee percentage, storage (200GB to 1TB) and live streaming limits, not a members cap.
Live streaming is included from the bottom tier up, with 20 monthly streaming hours and 100 viewers on Launch scaling to 50 hours and 3,000 viewers on Growth, and a paid add-on for audiences up to 10,000. That is a deeper live offering than most community platforms bundle by default.
Branded native apps for iOS and Android ship on every plan, but “branded” on the public tiers means your logo and colors inside the Mighty Networks app shell. A fully separate app under your own name in the app stores is a Mighty Pro feature, priced by custom quote.
Third-party review aggregators disagree sharply on Mighty Networks’ rating: Capterra shows 4.6 from roughly 90 reviews, G2 shows around 4.6 from 600-plus, and SaaSWorthy shows 3.8 from about 190. Reviewers across those sources converge on the same two complaints: slow, email-only customer support, and fees that apply on every tier with no way to opt out short of a Mighty Pro contract.
The verdict
Mighty Networks is the platform to pick when the community itself, not just the content inside it, is the product. The member directory and matchmaking give it a social layer that Circle and Skool don’t try to replicate, and the live streaming limits are generous for the price.
The transaction fee is the real cost to model. At meaningful sales volume, 0.5% on Growth is trivial, but 2% on Launch adds up fast for a creator selling four-figure cohort programs, and neither Circle’s nor Skool’s paid plans ask for a cut once you are past their free tiers. Run your expected sales volume against the fee tiers before you commit, and budget for slow support responses if something goes wrong with a live event or a payment.
Skip it if you want a simple content hub for one course and no social layer. The directory, matchmaking and live streaming are the reasons to pay a percentage forever, and they go unused if your members never interact with each other.
Honest verdict
Mighty Networks packs more into one product than Circle or Skool: courses, events and a real member directory alongside the community feed. The transaction fee is the thing to run the numbers on before signing up, since Circle and Skool both offer plans with no cut of sales and Mighty Networks does not, short of a custom Mighty Pro deal. If your community is built around members connecting with each other and you plan to sell through it, the feature set likely justifies the fee. If you just need a tidy place to post content and sell one course, a cheaper platform does that job without taking a percentage forever.
