Carrd
One-page site builder that costs $19 a year for custom domains and forms, and refuses to become anything more than one page.
Who it's for
Anyone who needs a founder page, a waitlist or a link hub live this afternoon and does not want a monthly subscription for it.
Standout details
- The free plan builds and publishes up to three sites with the core feature set and a Carrd footer credit
- Pro Standard is $19 a year, not a month, and covers 10 sites with custom domains and Let's Encrypt SSL
- Forms connect natively to beehiiv, Kit, Mailchimp, Loops, Resend, ActiveCampaign and around fifteen others
- Pro Plus at $49/yr adds password protection, redirects, variables, site files and downloadable site exports
- The 7-day Pro trial needs no payment details at all
What it is
Carrd builds single-page responsive sites. You pick a template or a blank page, drag elements around, and publish. That is the whole scope, and it has stayed the whole scope for years, which is why it still loads fast and still costs almost nothing.
The typical uses are a personal profile, a product waitlist, a link hub, a coming-soon page or a simple one-page product site with a Stripe or Gumroad button embedded.
Who should use it
Solo builders who need a presence without a project. If your alternative is spending a weekend on a framework or paying $16 a month for a site builder you barely open, Carrd is the sane answer.
What stands out
The three Pro tiers are not a capacity ladder. They are three different products, and the first jump is the one that matters. Pro Lite at $9 buys cosmetics: branding removed, premium templates, better image quality, site icons and QR codes. It cannot take a form submission, embed anything, or sit on a domain you own.
Pro Standard at $19 is where Carrd becomes useful. Custom domains with SSL through Let’s Encrypt, contact and signup and payment forms, third-party widgets and embeds, analytics through Google Analytics, Plausible or Matomo, meta tags and locally hosted fonts. The signup forms speak natively to beehiiv, Kit, Mailchimp, Loops, Resend, ActiveCampaign and around fifteen more, so a waitlist page needs no glue code between it and your list.
Pro Plus at $49 is aimed at people running client work: 25 sites, advanced forms, password protection, redirects, variables, site files and a full site download. Uploads across every Pro tier run to 16MB for images and 64MB for video.
The trial asks for no payment details at all, which is rare enough to be worth saying out loud.
The verdict
Carrd is unusual because it never grew. There is still one page per site, no blog, no content management, no API and almost no SEO surface, and that refusal to expand is why it still loads instantly and still costs almost nothing.
The same decision is what will eventually push you off it. You cannot add a second page, you cannot publish articles, and you will not rank for anything because there is nothing to rank. Design control is decent for a lightweight builder and nowhere near Framer or Webflow.
Buy it for exactly what it is: a single page, live this afternoon, on a domain you own, for less per year than most builders charge per month.
Honest verdict
At $19 a year, Pro Standard is the cheapest respectable way to put a real page on a domain you own, and I would suggest it to almost any solo builder who needs a landing page today. The constraint is absolute. One page per site, no blog, no second page, ever. Carrd has held that line for years and it is a design decision, not a gap on a roadmap, so anyone planning to grow into a multi-page site or rank in search should start somewhere else. Skip Pro Lite while you are at it, because at $9 it has no forms, no embeds and no custom domain, which is the whole reason most people pay.
